Create Multiple Restaurant Websites with a Single Login

As of today, LetsEat! users can now create and manage multiple restaurant websites with a single email log in. It’s simple—just log in and click “Switch Restaurants” in the top navigation. This will take you to a page that lists all your websites and allows you to create more.

This feature is only available to users with at least one active LetsEat! Pro restaurant website. Websites are billed individually and run on separate billing cycles. Of course, you are welcome to create multiple ad-supported sites as well.

Improved Menu Printouts

When you print out a restaurant’s menu web page online, you often see lots of peripheral junk (stray copyright information, website graphics, etc.), adding unnecessary pages to prints, and making things more difficult to read for customers.

Today, the menu pages, as well as the coupon, event, and other pages have received a face-lift in their print style sheets. When you print one of them out, you will receive a nice, clean, organized print, eliminating the need for your menu to be available in PDF form.

This change has already taken effect for all LetsEat! restaurant websites. Enjoy!

Updates to LetsEat! Mobile

LetsEat! Mobile has received a few updates this past week. Notably, custom navigation links now appear in the mobile websites’ navigation and custom pages are now available there as well. Google+ is now available as a link in the social media mobile links.

All websites, both mobile and desktop, have received a minor tweak to the display of business hours. They’ve been “smartened” up and now group by similar schedules instead of simply listing each day separately.

Improve your restaurant’s SEO with custom meta descriptions

Ask requested by several users, LetsEat! now allows you to customize your meta descriptions for most pages on your website. This feature is available to all Pro members as of today.

Meta descriptions are used by Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other search engines to help determine the content of your page and frequently to display alongside your page titles in the search results.

Useful keywords should be sprinkled (lightly) into your descriptions. A spammy-looking meta description might raise your restaurant’s SERP (search engine results page), but could also lead to a decline in clicks to your website. Ranking highly is of no use if no one clicks on your link!

Your meta description should be brief and highly descriptive. It should also assert that your website is the official one. Your website will, after all, be competing in the listings with the likes of Yelp, Citysearch, UrbanSpoon, Zagat, etc.

You can edit your restaurant website’s meta description by logging in and going to Settings » Meta Descriptions.

Add your restaurant’s menu to Facebook in two easy steps

LetsEat! is proud to announce a huge new feature: Facebook Menu Integration. With this new integration feature, you can add your LetsEat! website menu to a menu page on your Facebook profile.

It only takes two steps:

1. Go to Settings » Facebook Menu, and enter the URL of your Facebook page (it should look something like http://www.facebook.com/yourbusiness or http://www.facebook.com/pages/yourbusiness/123456)

2. Go to our app on Facebook and click the “Add to My Page” link.

The LetsEat! Facebook app has all the same features as our standard website menus, including photos, Like buttons, PDF downloads, daily specials, a printer-friendly link and multiple menu pages as tabs.

This feature is only available to LetsEat! Pro members, so if you haven’t upgraded yet, now is the time! Check out a sample menu on our Facebook page (and don’t forget to Like us while you’re there!).

Google Maps update

The map system has been updated and you no longer need to use a special API key in order to use Google Maps with a custom domain name. Time to add a map to your site, if you haven’t done so already!

More social media link options

As requested by several users, some more social media link options have been made available for the sidebar of your restaurant’s website, including Urbanspoon, Google+, and Tumblr. The old social media links for Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, and Myspace are still available as before.

New site translation: French

In addition to Spanish and English, the LetsEat site navigation is now available in French! You can change the language of your website by going to Settings » General Information and altering the drop down for Site language.

Business Hours update

In preparation for some future features, there is now a dedicated system to managing your restaurant’s store hours in Settings » Business Hours. This is completely optional (your old business hours text field is now located in Settings » General Information under the title Additional Information). However, it simplifies things quite a bit, and will be required for certain upcoming features, so it’s highly recommended that you switch over.

It allows for multiple schedules, so if your bar operates under different hours, or if you have multiple shifts (Breakfast, Lunch, etc.), you can list them separately.

Mobile updates: Coupons, Google Maps, and Social Media

As of today, all LetsEat! Mobile sites have been upgraded to include some new features including display of coupons (previously only available in the full site) as well as touch-device enhanced Google Map integration and links to your social media pages.

You don’t need to do anything to receive these updates—they’re already live on your mobile site. If you haven’t added your social media links yet, you can do so by going to Settings » Social Media.
